Order By Charting

Welcome to Implant Direct's Unique “Order by Charting” Program that is still under construction. Here is how it will work when fully functional:

1. Chart Treatment Plan: The restorative dentist or the surgical specialist will initiate the charting of the type of clinical application, the patient's existing condition of missing teeth (including teeth to be extracted), and the location for proposed placement of implants, crowns and bridges. The dentist initiating the charting will fill in the names and email addresses of the various team members (restorative, surgeon, lab) and enter the date the Treatment Plan was completed. Typing in the Patient’s last name and zip code creates a unique patient ID. A link to the chart is then sent to other implant team members along with an personalized message, created from the standard message texts provided…. i.e. "Thank you for referring….." or "I am referring this patient...."

2. Implant Selection: The surgical specialist (or implant dentist) enters the date on the chart and then clicks on the Implant icon and the case type pictures are replaced with Implant types. The dentist first clicks on the tooth number circle beside the location of an implant site, and then selects the specific implant type, diameter and length for each implant site. Upon selecting the implant, its product code will appear in the column beside the selected tooth number. The chart provides the dentist with the opportunity to view his inventory level for that particular implant and either add the implant to the shopping cart or deduct it from the doctor’s existing inventory. Implants are automatically added to the surgeon’s inventory when orders are made, and can be deducted when a case is charted, or manually by adjusting inventory records on the dentist’s Account Manager Section of Implant Direct’s website.

3. Implants Ready to Restore: The surgeon modifies the implant selection on the chart if a different implant was placed than originally planned. When the implants are ready to restore, the surgeon checks the appropriate box and enters the date before sending the email to the restorative dentist advising when the implants will be ready to restore.

4. Abutment Selection: The restorative dentist, upon receiving the email link to the patient's online charting, returns to the chart and clicks on the icon for abutment selection. Six abutment types will appear on the left hand column replacing either the implants or the case type pictures. The restorative dentist then clicks on the implant item code and selects on of the six abutment types. The implant code directs the selection to abutments that fit the particular implant platform but additional options allow the dentist to select particular cuff heights where appropriate. The abutments selected will be added to the dentist’s shopping cart.

5. Referral Appreciation Program (RAP): The ScrewPlant, ScrewPlus and ScrewDirect implants are provided with a straight abutment head (or modifiable fixture-mount) for cemented restorations. The ScrewRedirect has a 12 degree angled head and the ScrewIndirect has a screw-receiving abutment head. If the restorative dentist requires a different abutment for the two-piece ScrewPlant, ScrewPlus implants, or for RePlant, or Legacy Implants, the Surgeon, by checking the “RAP” Member box, indicating to the referring dentist and to the shopping cart system, that the surgeon’s account is to be charged for the abutment. Additional prosthetic components, such as transfers and analogs will be charged to the lab or to the restorative dentist.
