Merrill Lynch Report predicted
Implant Direct's impact on the implant market in 2006 and confirmed
it in another report 2.5 years later: |
Merrill Lynch Report, 1/26/06: "Implant Direct's
Price Leadership Strategy...with a unique Internet based
business model that allows for unprecedented low dental
implant prices, supported by Dr. Niznick's strong reputation
(particularly in the U.S.) we believe it would be wrong for
investors to become complacent and ignore the additional
competition."
Merrill Lynch Dental Implant Survey, 7/25/08:
Question: Which generic implant companies do
you consider the most appealing?
"Implant users provided the strongest feedback for
Implant Direct... This is interesting as Jerry Niznick's Implant
Direct is only two years old, but it appears that his reputation for
quality and design were indeed strong enough to differentiate his
company away from other discounters." |
October 26, 2008
marked the completion of Implant Direct's 2nd year of
implant sales, preceded by a 3 year and $25,000,000
investment in product development by Dr. Gerald Niznick, its
founder and president. Industry Reports indicate Implant
Direct has lived up to its promise to create a price-point
shift in the Dental Implant Industry by selling
"appropriately priced" components through the industry's
most intuitive and informative website. Dentists and Dental
Labs, faced with uncertain economic times, are turning to
Implant Direct in ever increasing numbers because they can
no longer afford to overlook cost savings of 50-75% on
dental implants and abutments.
|
Implant Direct's
launch of its RePlant, RePlus and ReActive lines of Nobel
Replace™ compatible products, has contributed to Nobel Biocare discounting 40-65%
to dentists who have started to use Implant Direct's
products. Nobel's inability to retain its customers and/or maintain its
premium pricing structure in the face of high quality, reasonably priced alternatives
from Implant Direct has contributed to Nobel's 70% drop in
its stock value during the same 12 month period that Straumann's stock value has dropped only 30%, which is more
in line with the stock market. Implant Direct's Free
Introductory Offers to
Nobel customers, along with the use of its website to expose
questionable business practices, innovations, and product claims by Nobel, may have
also contributed to Nobel's fall from grace among some
dental professionals.

SwissPlant Implant Launch: Straumann Compatible Product Line Set For Launch January 1,
2009 |
Implant
Direct's new SwissPlant™ Implant System, with surgical protocols for Tissue or
Bone-level insertion, offers surgical and prosthetic
compatibility to Straumann's products. SwissPlant implants
will be provided with All-In-1 packaging that includes a
cover screw, 2mm healing collar, transfer and straight
abutment with a comfort cap for only $200. At less than
1/3rd Straumann's U.S. list prices for comparable
components, SwissPlant may have a similar effect on
Straumann as the RePlant® System is having on Nobel Biocare's sales, pricing practices
and ultimately, stock values. |
