Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) Surgical Drills 

 

The Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) Osteotomy Drills (product numbers: SD2.3C, SD2.8CS, D5.1C) are engineered with an amorphous carbon surface treatment designed to enhance wear resistance while maintaining low-friction, bioinert properties during osteotomy preparation. 

  • Low-Friction Surface Properties: Features a bio-compatible DLC surface coating that supports cutting performance while helping minimize bone overheating during osteotomy preparation.1
  • Extended Wear Resistance: Amorphous carbon coating enhances surface hardness which provides enhanced wear resistance up to 30 osteotomies.1 
  • High-Contrast Depth Markings: Includes high-contrast, laser-etched depth markings corresponding to standard implant length protocols (6mm–16mm) for visual depth control under irrigation.2
  • Dual-Length Configurations: Available in standard (30.6 mm) and extended (36.6 mm) overall shaft lengths to accommodate a wide range of implant lengths and clinical access requirements.3

The Implant Direct Drill Stop System (product numbers: CDSKL, CDSKS, DSN06) provides physical depth restriction during osteotomy drilling, reducing the risk of over-drilling an osteotomy. 

  • Secure DLC Drill Hub Engagement: Precision-engineered friction collars engage securely to the hub of the DLC drills to prevent drill stop slippage when drilling. 

  • Anatomical Safety Stops: Preset drill stop lengths range from 6 mm to 16 mm, providing precise control of drilling depth.

  • Autoclavable Modular Storage: Organizers (product numbers: DSKL, DSKS) store depth stops in color-coded sequence by diameter and length for fast chairside selection and sterilization.
